Title: Manager, Market & Competitive Intelligence
Summary: This position is new within the BASF Corporation. The goal of the position is to enable in depth understanding of the competitive environment and key market opportunities in North America. The role will support the Regional Business Units (RBU) and the cross-RBU Industry and Customer Focus Teams.Key Responsibilities-Research, analyze and develop scenario planning for key markets and competitors, identifying potential strategic implications.-Execute value chain analysis in support of Industry, Customer and Emerging Market focus teams in business case evaluations.-Develop and maintain necessary systems to manage and communicate NA market and competitive intelligence within BASF, effectively sharing analysis to support business decisions.- Select and develop relationships with external companies to enhance market and competitive intelligence capabilities.-Research and support the evaluation of potential acquisition candidates.This function will work closely with ZZS (competitor intelligence), the Regional Business Units and the innovation scouting activities to fully leverage the existing expertise in BASF and create maximum value.* The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree, with an MBA or equivalent preferred. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.* Minimum of 8 years of total work experience.* Minimum of 5 years in a business role.* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills are necessary. Must be able to make strategic recommendations based on data analysis.* Expertise in market intelligence/research, ability to identify emerging trends.* The individual must be able to work in teams and have excellent communication skills
