Summary: Market Analysis & Intelligence participates in commercial planning efforts by providing objective, in-depth information about Genentechs current and future markets, product performance, customers and competitors. Market Analysis & Intelligence teams identify critical business issues and opportunities for growth; collaborating with various GNE cross-functional teams to embed an external market point-of-view into the strategic direction of Genentech. Competitive Intelligence is part of Market Analysis & Intelligence and this group is charged with providing Genentech executives, management and cross-functional teams with highly current and relevant, detailed and holistic competitive information, insights and recommendations, which includes both in-line brands and late stage research molecules. Through their work, Competitive Intelligence helps internal business partners and stakeholders shape and form the best strategies, plans and tactics to maximize competitive advantage. As such, the general purpose of the Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence (CI) role is to oversee and lead the cross-portfolio Competitive Intelligence function and team Given the scope of this role, the Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence is a senior member of the overall Market Analysis & Intelligence group, and therefore has additional responsibilities such as representing the Director of Market Analysis & Intelligence in his/her absence or otherwise as requested, interacting with senior management and cross-functional executives in representation of Competitive Intelligence and/or other Market Analysis & Intelligence responsibilities/activities, as well as working with his/her manager and peers in the ongoing development of the Market Analysis & Intelligence function. Incumbents in the Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence role, as all other employees, are fully accountable for compliance with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of GNE activities. As a manager of others, the Associate Director, Competitive Intelligence is not only accountable for his/her own compliance, but also for the compliance of all individuals in his/her team. As such, leads the way and leads by example by demonstrating full knowledge and commitment to all applicable policies. Monitors adherence to company policies and guidelines and acts according to established procedures to ensure all issues are addressed and resolved as required.
