Title: Competitive Intelligence Manager
Location: Santa Clara, CA
Summary: The Competitive Intelligence Manager (CI) is responsible for tracking comparative technologies, products, companies, working with the major stakeholders to develop competitive positioning both tactically and strategically. This information will be used to develop roadmaps, release plans, help define and prioritize requirements. The Competitive Intelligence Manager will lead the CI initiatives, it will be this individual’s responsibilties to provide a steady flow of competitive information to the sales team with focused campaigns around near term competiive situations.A key responsibility and skill will be balancing priorities, managing expectations of multiple key stakeholders,and strong executive level communications. Responsibilities: • This leadership position will be responsible for developing and implementing a competitive intelligence program for technology and business positioning addressing all major competitors focusing on new business opportunities • Specifically the position will be responsible for focusing the CI effort, for gathering the information, for analyzing the information, and generating recurring and special assessment documents/presentations • The position will work closely with Business Unit elements in the CI activity and the technical community • CI results and reports will be presented to upper levels of leadership • This position will be expected to create and investigate style and culture for CI and will develop a Standard Work Process for CI activities • This position will also lead Knowledge Management initiatives within the business, overseeing a KM infrastructure, and working to develop appropriate content and foster a knowledge management culture within our businesses • Apply structured problem solving approaches to key competitive questions • Independently plan design and conduct multiple simultaneous complex projects anticipating potential obstacles and recommending actions to keep projects on track • Manage external vendors and consultants to enable effective project execution • Provide business insights based on project results with actionable recommendations to brand business stakeholders • Execute cross functional scenario planning work-shops - Communicate key findings and insights to management and Executives • Ensure that both routine and ad-hoc projects meet service-level expectations for quality timeliness and budget • Most successful candidate will have some demonstrated people management experience, will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work across a diverse company and in team environment, will be a self starter and can work to top level objectives. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor degree in Business a minimum with a higher level degree a benefit and any post graduate focus on CI a benefit • 6+ years experience including competitive intelligence marketing market research and/or market analysis.
