Title: Competitive Intelligence Sr. Manager

Location: Atlanta, GA

Summary: Deloitte's Research & Innovation (R&I) organization is hiring a Senior Manager to join its Competitive Intelligence (CI) team. The CI team offers Firm leadership an objective, informed view of external developments affecting competition for professional services. CI Senior Managers support leadership decision-making across a broad spectrum of business issues-strategy, operations, marketing, sales, and talent, for example-by serving as subject matter experts on competitive issues associated with Deloitte's four world-class businesses: Audit & Enterprise Risk Services; Financial Advisory Services; Consulting; and Tax. The Senior Manager will exercise these responsibilities by: - Structuring, supervising, and executing intelligence projects both in anticipation of and responsive to internal client needs, coordinating and integrating the work of information specialists, intelligence - collectors, and junior analysts. - Conducting self-directed research into actions planned or taken by Deloitte's competitors, including early warning of these events to Deloitte's executive committee. - Conceptualizing, preparing, and delivering reports on findings to the Firm's decision makers. - Intellectual curiosity; analytical skepticism; and cogent, persuasive expression - in person and in print - are foundational requirements of the role. CI Senior Managers must meet an exceptional standard for quality in writing, speaking, and independent thought. - Master's degree required. A major course of study in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Operations Research, History, or Political Science is preferred; candidates whose major course of study required intensive critical analysis and writing will be considered. - Minimum ten years' relevant work experience required, with at least five years in a large professional services firm; a corporate strategy or planning department; or an intelligence analysis role. - Work experience must include preparing strategy briefs, research notes, and/or presentations to executive leadership of large, complex businesses or governmental organizations. Project management, editorial, and staff coaching experience are enablers of success. - Proficiency in MS Office applications - especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel - required; these skills underlie professional presentation of research findings. - Candidates will provide writing samples in advance of initial interviews. Candidates selected for additional screening will undergo timed writing assessments. - The CI team is virtual, with members and clients in multiple regions of the US and overseas; candidates must be comfortable operating in virtual environments.
