Title: Competitive Intelligence Manager
Location: Santa Monica, CA
Summary: The Competitive Intelligence Manager participates actively in supporting the business strategy and planning efforts by providing objective, in-depth information about current and future market and competitive forces. The CI Manager will act as a strategic advisor to Sr. Staff, providing deep expertise in current and future competitive drivers in the market place as well as functional expertise in how to use CI to develop competitive strategies. Research & analysis of competitive forces must address the following areas: - Current competitors and other online businesses in the space - Emerging technologies such as Mobile and others - Trends in local markets - Online & offline - Pricing strategies - Industry trends and impact on competitive positions Responsibilities * Provide an objective viewpoint based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of secondary and primary data * Make recommendations to Product and Sr. Staff based on findings related to competitive information * Liaise with Market Intelligence counterparts to ensure up-to-date assumptions * Lead competitive threat assessments to develop team assumptions * Inform, communicate, and collaborate with internal partners * Develop competitive analysis and forecasting tools using industry best practices * Act as strategic thought partner to team * Make finding easily accessible to team Skills/Qualifications * BS/BA required * 2+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, research or industry analyst roles * Must have superior sleuth/detective skills * Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be able to sell to executives * Excellent PowerPoint skills are required
