Title: Director, Market Research and Competitive Intelligence
Location: Buffalo, NY
As Director, Market Research and Competitive Intelligence, you will lead the identification and investigation of exciting new directions for HealthNow's strategic diversification and growth. Position Summary:Applies extensive research experience on a variety of quantitative and qualitative methodologies to produce high quality results. Works with internal and external stakeholders to understand business needs and build effective research instruments and competitive intelligence reporting to obtain desired results. Provides direction for research agenda, competitive intelligence analysis, and research initiatives based on understanding of market dynamics, knowledge of effective solutions, and customer needs. Provides market data and analysis to support enterprise-wide initiatives, strategic planning, and individual local market initiatives. Builds and maintains strong relationships in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment. This position handles highly confidential information. Primary Job Duties:Develops and executes a robust research and competitive intelligence data to drive HealthNow? s strategic plan. Ensures all information is actionable and executed upon. Delivers comprehensive consumer centered view that promotes appropriate segmentation for products, services, and strategic imperatives. Works closely with corporate leadership in sharing and facilitating the collaborative assessment of research, analysis, interpretation, and understanding of market data. Effectively negotiates with and manages third-party vendors. Introduction and adoption of cutting-edge research methodologies and competitive intelligence analysis. Develop a team of highly qualified research and competitive intelligence professionals. Guide and shape research and competitive intelligence efforts and integrate into the fabric of the organization to deliver business results and support evolving strategic priorities. Required Skills Primary Skills/Knowledge:Strong training in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including developing and writing questionnaires; in-depth consumer research experience desired. Proven experience in competitive intelligence gathering and analysis in a non-publicly traded business sector. Competitive Intelligence Professional (CIP) certification preferred. Strategic thinking/planning skills. Effective in managing/overseeing a portfolio of projects while delivering results on-time and on-budget. Experience leading teams, motivating employees, and giving constructive feedback Persuasive communication style. Experience building, utilizing, and maintaining social media vehicles, online panels, and other alternative research and intelligence gathering approaches. MS Word- Advanced, MS Excel- Advanced, MS PowerPoint- Advanced, MS Access- Intermediate, Internet- Advanced, SPSS- Advanced and LexisNexis - Advanced Required Experience Preferred Education:MA-Master of Arts (N/A)Preferred Experience:Minimum of seven years business experience in market research and competitive intelligence. Working Conditions:Must be able to work in an office environment Must be able to accommodate regional/national travel (auto or air)
