Title: Competitive Intelligence
Location: Atlanta, GA
Summary: Reporting to the Director of Marketing and Brand Management, this individual will be part of a small "Marketing and Brand Management" team charged with improving brand-building capability across Newell Rubbermaid. The team's results are measured by how well brands advance toward "best in class" as part of a proprietary key elements assessment. The team's responsibilities focus on internal consulting, process development, training, and community building. The Competitive Intelligence (CI) role is a new position. The individual in this position will be responsible for building CI capability into Global Business Units and developing a vibrant community of practice. The effort will be integrated into the overall company transformation plans. This will inform and improve business and Brand Strategies. Responsibilities: Develop and implement a CI process, working with Global Business Units. Internal / external information sources. Competitor profiles including strategy and financials. Implications and scenario planning. Central repository for information / company access Improve our capabilities to use CI effectively. Best Practices. Community of Practice. Consulting with GBU teams. Skill building programs Integrate CI into the way business is done. Strategic planning. Integrated marketing planning. Other elements of the annual operating plan. Qualifications: Ideal Candidate Profile: Bachelor's degree, ideally an MBA 6-10 years professional experience, ideally including the following: CI / analysis experience, including creative approaches to collecting information o Brand Management or finance experience o Consulting or staff role experience - working with individuals to help them develop new strategies and creating formal training courses (as needed) Desired skills o Strong leadership and collaboration skills - especially the ability to influence individuals who are not in a direct reporting line. Strong strategic thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills Other: This role is for an individual who is passionate about competitive intelligence and helping a company transform and grow its skills in this area. This position will be based in Atlanta, and candidates must be willing to relocate if they are not already located in Atlanta.
