Summary: This positions overall responsibility is to lead market research and competitive intelligence projects. This person will support the BU by:o Developing and managing execution of primary and secondary market research plans globallyo Communicating with and supporting Strategy & Portfolio, New Modalities Marketing, BD&L and other Marketing functions to enable integration of research results into decision-makingESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:o Develop and execute primary and secondary market research plans globallyo Guide and coordinate team of market researchers with both a global and regional focuso Provide guidance and coordination on primary research efforts (e.g., Voice of Customer)o Perform all secondary market research to support marketing plans; gather and synthesize competitive intelligenceo Guide and coordinate efforts for quantification of market sizing, market share, and competitive positioning on a global and regional basiso Gather customer data and track impact of Covidien initiatives in marketo Develop short and long-term market research staffing requirements for the BUo Cooperate with other functions to integrate research findings into decision-making and strategic planning processo Communicate with New Modalities Marketing, BD&L and other functions to understand their research requirements, including potential role in critical decisionso Identify market and competitive trends, understand potential business impact and pro-actively communicate findings to other functionso Develop and communicate insights based on customer data (e.g., customer segmentation)
