Title: Director, Market Research

Summary: This is an outstanding opportunity for a mid-level professional to further develop skills in understanding diverse research needs within a Fortune 100 media company, designing research solutions that will meet those needs, actually facilitating the research you've designed, and analyzing and reporting on the insights gained from consumers. Your personal initiative, drive, and presentation skills will ensure that various key stakeholders across the organization benefit from your findings. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of cross-platform properties (television, broadband, telephony, mobile broadband, Wi-Fi, home security, advanced computer support, etc.) in the planning stages, at the prototype phase, at initial market trial, as well as at later points in the product life cycle. While you will report to Comcast's Spotlight group, you will have significant exposure to the other key stakeholders who fund the Comcast Advisors panel, including teams from Market Research and Planning, Comcast Interactive Media, Comcast User Experience, and the Comcast.net business unit.
Research Facilitation and Synthesis
Design, generate and analyze studies to gain consumer insights, validate concepts, assess competitive threats, and uncover new product or service opportunities.
Lead in preparation efforts for each study, including methodology, questionnaire or discussion script development, recruitment, and screening, while making sure all of which resonate with key stakeholders by communicating progress milestones internally.
After four 2-hour training sessions, use the Sparq' survey programming application from Vision Critical (host of the Comcast Advisors panel) to program and implement quantitative surveys and discussion boards. Surveys will sometimes require complex skip patterns and split-sample modules.
Occasionally observe studies being executed by other stakeholders in the company, including those conducted in Comcast's in-house user research lab (to gain first-hand knowledge of product prototypes and customer behaviors and attitudes), and those conducted externally by any of Comcast's preferred research vendors.
Analyze findings and synthesize them with past relevant primary research, other secondary reports, and transactional data available from Comcast's customer database, to strengthen and reinforce the output of each study.
Translate research measures into actionable recommendations and guidance.
Deliver insights in the form of engaging and creative presentations and read-outs.
