Title: Manager of Market Research and Competitive Intelligence

Location: Clinton, MA

Summary: The Manager of Market Research/Competitive Intelligence is responsible for generating and disseminating actionable information within the Healthcare Global Business Unit. These insights fuel the annual strategic planning process and provide the facts upon which tactical decisions are made. This position interfaces heavily with sales, engineering/program management, operations, and Quality/Regulatory. The successful candidate will be a self-starter who has “been there” and “done it” before. He or she will be the nucleus of a new department and internal competency. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Utilizes creative and cost-effect means leading GBU marketing research and competitive intelligence activities. •Serves as principal market research/intelligence leader, develops strong relationships across the organization and with key information suppliers, subject matter experts, customers and supply chain partners to achieve project specific and GBU objectives. •Able to simplify the complex, providing insights that help transform the organization. •Designs, conducts research, analyzes, and communicates findings on industry and market trends, customer needs, market penetration, competitive position/actions, technology, sales execution, potential offerings, and threats to the GBU’s strategic position and revenue streams. •Works closely with Sales, Engineering & Program Management, and Plant personnel to gather data on customers and competitors; analyze their performance, strengths, weaknesses, strategies, tactics, and methods of operation. •Leads all research in market and competitive environment and delivers tactical and strategic information to the organization in the form of Competitive Intelligence Reports, Competitor Profiles, and Top Customer Updates. •Plays a key role in the GBU’s strategic planning process, providing inputs, leading workshops, and synthesizing outputs and conclusions. •Analyzes market segments and identifies high growth entities that the GBU should target. •Leads efforts in synthesizing information to assist in the assessment of technology and development of new products or services that strengthen Nypro’s competitive position. •Brings a can-do-attitude to routine activities including: collecting, updating, and insuring easy organizational access to customer, market, and competitive information. •Punctual delivery of routine and ad hoc reports, forecasts, and proforma using external data and internal data sources from financial, sales, and other data repositories.
