Summary: • Develop and manage market research activities to help improve marketing plans
• Conduct and analyze research studies to determine marketing potential of geographic areas, demographic profiles and competitive posture
• Fulfill special informational requests to define and describe target market or marketing potential
• Provide management with information used to predict sales potential and market conditions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Analyze sales records, research trends and estimate market developments and potential.
2. Develop market research objectives to help the organization meet its strategic goals.
3. Research market conditions in local, regional or national area and conduct feasibility studies to determine market demand for existing and new products.
4. Compile and analyze industry, market and competitor information regarding the sale and distribution of products.
5. Gather data on competitors and analyze and compare such competitive factors as product performance, pricing, sales and methods of marketing and distribution.
6. Analyze current sales and point-of-purchase data to assist in defining best practices in category management.
7. Develop research methodology and design format for data gathering, such as focus groups, interviews, surveys, opinion polls, or questionnaires.
8. Prepare and submit statistical reports, graphic illustrations of findings, and action plan recommendations to marketing management.
9. Assist marketing management in all aspects of business, customer, and product development through comprehensive research analysis, including developing marketing plans and marketing information systems.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/TRAINING:
Educational attainment equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Statistics or a related field
Thorough experience in market research is required
